We are delighted to announce our agreement with Hexatronic Group AB. of Gothenburg Sweden to acquire 100% of the share capital of our business.
Tech Optics is a long-established UK-based distributor of fibre optic componentry, production, test and inspection equipment, and sector-leading specialist manufacturer of harsh environment cable assemblies for UK and international Defence, Aerospace, Oil and Gas and other harsh environment markets. A definitive purchase agreement was signed on 1st June, 2020.
We are convinced this exciting development will bring us increased strength, resource and dynamism and expand our market reach and the services we bring to satisfy our customers. We are particularly pleased to enter the fold of fibre optic specialist businesses already established within the Hexatronic Group. We share the strong values and commitment to excellence which this dynamic and growing group demonstrates throughout the sectors in which it operates.
Already present in the UK with the highly successful FTTH-focussed Hexatronic UK business based in Gosport, and the fibre optic training company PQMS based in Bury, the acquisition of Tech Optics is a further confident and strategic step into the harsh environment fibre optic market in the UK, demonstrating the Hexatronic Group’s ability to move decisively in what is for them is a key strategic market sector.
The last ten years in Tech Optics have been a great source of challenge and fulfilment as we have invested in our team, expanded the depth of our expertise, strengthened our management and grown our product range. While I personally now look forward to retirement, I am totally confident in the future for Tech Optics within the Hexatronic Group and under the leadership of my expert colleague Mark Western who takes over the role of Managing Director following the completion of the acquisition.
