Our courses provide assistance, information and training for contractors, installers, engineers and end users on the termination of fibre optic cables and on the selection and application of fibre optic components and equipment.
Tech Optics trains many customers who are planning their own in-house termination capability, or who want to move on to new types of connectors or termination methods - now including MTP/MPO. We also run courses on terminating harsh environment connectors to military tactical cables, which requires a stronger skill set and deeper knowledge base than that required for terminating standard commercial connectors.
Courses can be held either at our facilities in Tonbridge, Kent or at a customer's own premises.

We train in terminating fibre optic cables with a wide range of connectors, both singlemode and multimode. Our instructors emphasise the practical aspects of the termination process.
Note: For the singlemode course, you must either have been working with multimode fibres or attended our multimode course.
For those just starting to use fibre optic technology, or for companies with additional staff training needs, we offer one-day courses in Tonbridge, Kent. These courses are specifically designed to meet the requirements of the installer with a practical insight to the technology and 'hands-on' training for terminating, splicing and testing.
Our advanced courses on singlemode fibre optic technology include interferometry, understanding the end-face geometry of the fibre, how the interferometer works and how it is used as a tool. Machine polishing of singlemode fibres is necessary to get the process optimised for maximum fibre performance, high optical return loss, and making the fibre geometry compliant to IEC standards.
Tech Optics is now offering MTP/MPO training in our dedicated new training facility which is fully equipped with leading-edge termination and inspection equipment, including a Domaille polishing machine and a Norland AIM2020 interferometer.
