Cards
The Volition Network Interface Cards (NICs) are tested in a
number of recognised name workstations and servers (such as Compaq,
HP, Dell and others), to ensure easy installation and high performance.
These cards use the 21143 chipset, which is one of the most widely
used field proven NIC chips available, ensuring trouble free operation.
Cards operate at 10Mbps and 100Mbps and will interoperate with
IEEE802.3 and IEEE802.3u compliant hubs, switches and routers
from CISCO, Nortel Networks, 3Com, Cabletron and other IEEE802.3
and IEEE802.3u compliant networking equipment.
Long Cable Distances, Fewer Wiring
Closets
Volition fibre optic NICs support cable distances up to 2km. This
easily exceeds to-day's generic cabling standards for fibre cable
length requirements of up to 300 metres. Using the advantage of
fibre optic cabling with Volition NICs reduces the need for intermediate
wiring closets between your data centre and your PCs. This provides
obvious cost savings.
