New 865X Finishing Film
Tech Optics is now stocking the new final polishing film from 3M. The 3M Lapping Film
865X provides an alternative to the 863XW final polishing film. The 865X is a 0.2µm Silicon Dioxide product available in both 4.25 inch and 5 inch diameter discs.

Tech Optics offers a comprehensive range of 3M abrasives for polishing fiber optic terminations. These abrasive films are available in sheet or disc sizes. Polishing films are precise alternatives to messy slurries that require time-intensive cleanup. These films contain proprietary high performance silica and resins coated on 3 mil films.

We offer, below, advice on processes for a number of the commonly used polishing machines. While neither Tech Optics nor 3M offer any guarantee or accept any liability for these processes, you will find that using 3M polishing films and following the guidelines you will achieve a process that will only require small adjustments to obtain the result you require. The 3M863XW and 3M865X finishing films produce Ultra PC finishes on spherical polish connectors.
