The Fibertron Multicure connector heater provides controlled
curing of epoxy used in the termination of fibre optic connectors.
The unit permits controlled curing for up to 24 connectors at
one time and can accommodate most types of optical connectors
using an interchangeable connector block.
Unlike heat guns that can vary greatly and cause large swings
in temperature, the Multicure heater permits epoxy to be cured
at a desired temperature for a longer period of time.
The Multicure has a thermostat that allows the temperature to
be set between 60ºC and 120ºC. Each unit is supplied
with a dial gauge thermometer to allow real time temperature recording.
When using an epoxies such as Resin
Tech RT156 and RT153FC with ceramic connectors, Tech Optics
recommends a temperature in the range of 80ºC to 100ºC
with a cure time in the oven of approximately 15 minutes. Users
should, however, follow the Resin Tech instructions and cure by
the colour change in the epoxy and not by time. The oven block
is interchange-able and blocks are available to accommodate most
connector styles.
Each Multicure heater is supplied with a power cord making it
ready for instant use with the plug style appropriate to the particular
country the unit is being shipped to.
