The HDC-5100 polisher allows you to program your polishing processes through an easy-to-use PC-based Windows-like full-colour touch screen panel. Once programmed, the panel displays your settings for speed, time, and pressure, and also prompts the operator for the film, pad, and lubricant needed for each step of the process. This provides a unique capability of precisely optimising each step of every process, thus optimising the polish for end face geometry, back reflection and surface finish.
The number of processes that can be defined and stored within the HDC-5100 is only limited by the amount of machine memory. This means hundreds of processes and steps within each process can be stored on a single machine.
If the number of connectors loaded into the polishing fixture is less than the default that has been programmed, the automatic pressure adjustment feature allows the operator to enter the actual number of connectors loaded. The required pressure is then automatically recalculated to ensure that the individual connector force remains constant regardless of the number of connectors assumed in the process definition.
The HDC-5100 also provides the capability to copy and store your processes to a CompactFlash memory card. The CompactFlash card can be used to backup your defined processes and to copy processes from one machine to another. This not only saves process setup time for each machine, but also ensures consistent process settings.

A range of connector holders is available from 10 to 18 port that will accept most types of connector. These include FC, SC and ST spherical polish, LC and MT-RJ small form factor and SCAPC, LCAPC and MT-RJ APC connectors. Between each stage of a polish process the connector holder lifts for ease and speed of cleaning the ferrules and a drip tray swings under to prevent spillage onto the machine.
These polishing fixtures are manufactured with the superior quality, accuracy, and durability found in the Domaille polishing machines. All fixtures are machined from hardened stainless steel for wear and corrosion resistance. Each fixture is uniquely serialized which allows for easy tracking of individual fixture performance. Port numbers are clearly marked for quick and accurate identification. All fixtures have replaceable/repairable ferrule inserts. If one is damaged it can be replaced or repaired, increasing the life span of the fixture.
