The central tube fibre optic cable design offers a low cost, light duty construction for up to 24 optical fibres in a central tube. The tube is overlaid with a swellable aramid yarn which offers additional moisture protection, or e-glass strength member . This is then jacketed with a universal Low Smoke Zero Halogen sheath. This cable gives good fire resistance for inside buildings and the gel filled central tube gives a moisture protection for cable installation in ducts. E-glass strength members give additional rodent protection. The number of fibres in the cable can be chosen from 4, 8, 12, 16 and 24, and each fibre is colour coded for circuit identification. Fibre sizes are singlemode, 50/125µm, OM2 and OM3, and 62.5/125µm, each fibre having a primary buffer coating of 250µm. |
