Breakout cables are of a tight buffered construction and specifically designed for use in risers and other building applications requiring flame retardant protection. Each tight buffered fibre is surrounded in Kevlar and jacketed into a colour coded sub-cable 2.5mm in diameter (breakout dimension).

Breakout cables allow each fibre to be directly terminated with a connector. The 2.5mm jacket and Kevlar provide the strain relief right up to the connector.
