Pigtail Fibre

Tech Optics stocks singlemode, 50/125µm and 62.5/125µm size fibres buffered to 900µm, for use as pigtails for splicing on to outside plant or riser rated fibre optic cables. The 900µm coating is available either as a tight buffer or as a semi-tight buffer.

These fibres are available in cut lengths or on spools of up to 2200 metres. The 900µm coating is either natural (white) colour or may be supplied in different colours where circuit identification is required.

The tight buffer is easily strippable with any of the buffer stripping tools found in the tooling section of this web site. The 900µm buffer uses a flame retardant material and may therefore be used within cabinets and enclosures.

Our latest product is a Vo rated tight buffered coating on Corning SMF28 singlemode fibre. This speciality coating has passed the Vo burn test and can be supplied in either natural (white) or coloured coatings.
