LC Style Connectors

One major advantage of the LC connector is its ability for high density in patch panels. It is smaller than the copper RJ-45 providing the same or greater port density for fibre as copper. The LC requires less space in faceplates and cabinets and allows you to double the number of connectors in the same space, making it the perfect choice in applications where space is limited.

Since the LC connector has a style similar to a telephone plug, engaging and releasing the LC connector is intuitive and fast, reducing the cost of installation, rearrangements, and training.

Saving space saves money........

The duplex LC connector fits in the same space as a copper CAT-5 plug, and requires half the space of conventional duplex fibre optic connectors.
Minicord is a compact yet robust cordage with an 80 lb. pull rating, and uses less than 1/3 of the space required by 3 millimeter fibre cordage.
LC connectors on Minicord can reduce the required space for cross connect shelves by one half. The result is a high density fibre optic solution that reduces the amount of space and investment required in the closet and at the desk. An LC solution is also half as intrusive to existing buildings and simpler to integrate into new building designs.

We recommend singlemode connectors should be machine polished in order to achieve the desired high optical return loss. We offer an LC polishing plate for the Domaille polishing machine.
