SC Build Out Style Attenuators
Build Out Attenuators are female to male plug style devices that offer a flat spectral attenuation, low polarisation dependant loss (<0.1dB) and high power-handling capability. The PC polish provides a typical optical return loss of <-55dB. A regular connector, of the same style, is plugged into the rear of the attenuator, while the front end has the same male format as the regular connector. It is a case of "plug-and-play". Build Out Attenuators are available in ST, SC and FC styles with attenuation values of 5, 10, 15 and 20dB. Other attenuation values are available to order.
Applications for these Attenuators are in DWDM systems, analogue and digital CATV, EDFA and other highly amplified systems and high speed data communications.
